This is the CD cover from Imogen Heap’s second album “Speak for Yourself.” I purchased the music from iTunes a couple of years ago when I first heard “Cumulus” which is one of her instrumentals. This particular cover reminds me so much of her music from the airy, diluted photo to the psychedelic dots radiating from her body. I love the lower case “i” in her first name contrasted with the rest of her name in the same boxy font in upper case. The contrast and overlapping of the two fonts used is quite interesting with her name in the blocky, traditional font and the album title in a feminine, script font with sweeping flourishes. The clean, uncluttered look really appeals to my sense of design.
It is a simple design yet very effective. I do like the way they did her name with the lower case i at the begin. It was what first caught my attention. Then it followed to the name of the album. There isnt much going on but that is what makes it good. Sometimes if it is over crowded you just skip over it.
